Calvary Baptist Church of Waterloo is prayerfully seeking God’s will for their next pastor after the move of our previous pastor of 14 years. We are searching for a man with a pastor’s heart that loves to study and preach the Word, has a burden for souls desiring to reach the surrounding area for Christ, while caring for the church family.
Potential candidates must meet the qualifications as outlined in the Bible in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Divorced men need not apply.
We are a 25-year-old independent, fundamental, Baptist church that uses the KJV exclusively for all teaching and preaching. We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church and the pre-millennial physical return of Christ. We are not Reformed or Calvinistic. We have a heart for missions and practice Faith Promise missions giving. Our worship is traditional and conservative, and we still sing congregationally out of hymn books.
Our church is family friendly and warmly responds to visitors of all ages, demographics, and ethnicities. We are debt-free and average 75 in attendance, with a good balance of ages from babies in the nursery to Senior saints still actively serving the Lord.
The church has a desire to grow under the leadership of their next pastor and believes in following the faith and vision of their pastor who oversees the work of the ministry. There is great potential for church growth as we are 1 of only 2 IFB churches in the area. Our desire is to make a difference here in the Northeast corner of Iowa and are seeking a man that is willing to continue building on the foundation that’s been laid in our previous 25 years of ministry. The area is growing in population, and the economy is strong and stable.
Candidates must be willing to submit to a full background check. The position will include a salary which may be considered full-time depending upon the needs of the incoming pastor. We do not have a parsonage.
Interested candidates should email a resume (please include your testimony, doctrinal statement, ministry training or education, ministry experience, references, and links to sermons) to the pastoral search committee at [email protected]. Please type Potential Pastoral Candidate in the subject line of your email.
